Hi, I’m Angela, the founder of CYNEFIN Yoga.
Yoga has been part of my life for over 15 years. What began as a personal practice to support my own wellbeing has gradually grown into something much deeper, a way of slowing down, reconnecting, and finding a sense of balance in everyday life. CYNEFIN Yoga was created from that experience.
The word cynefin means a deep sense of belonging, to place, to nature, and to yourself. It’s a feeling I’ve found through yoga, and one I wanted to share with others here in Porthcawl.
My background is in teaching and education, where I have worked for over 25 years supporting individuals with a wide range of needs, including those requiring reasonable adjustments. This experience has shaped my approach to teaching yoga, with a strong focus on inclusivity, understanding, and empowering individuals to feel confident in their own bodies.
After qualifying as a yoga teacher, I felt strongly that yoga should be more accessible, welcoming, and connected to the community. Not something exclusive or intimidating, but a space where people can simply come as they are.
My approach to teaching is calm, supportive, and adaptable. I offer a range of sessions, from gentle and restorative practices to more dynamic flows, always encouraging you to move in a way that feels right for your body. There’s no pressure, no expectation, just space to breathe, move, and reconnect.
Many of our sessions take place outdoors, particularly at Rest Bay, where the natural environment becomes part of the experience. The sound of the sea, the fresh air, and the open space all help to create a sense of grounding and calm.
At the heart of CYNEFIN Yoga is community. Whether you’re completely new to yoga or have been practicing for years, you’ll be welcomed into a space that is inclusive, relaxed and supportive.
This is more than just yoga, it’s about creating moments to pause, reconnect, and feel a genuine sense of belonging.
